What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a time-honoured, natural approach to health. It is based on the premise that there are zones and reflex areas on the feet that correspond to EVERY organ, gland, and body part. Using thumb and finger pressure, the reflex points are stimulated, thus affecting the whole body.

This results in:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Improved blood and lymph circulation (and thus enhancing immune function)
  • A normalization or balancing of all systems and functions of the body

Reflexology sessions activate and support your body’s own healing abilities! This healing modality compliments any other therapy that you may currently be receiving, conventional or otherwise.

Egyptian Wall Painting Early 6th Dynasty ~ 2,330 BC
The inscription reads: “Don’t hurt me” and the practitioner replies “I shall act so you praise me”.

This wall painting, showing the ancient practices of both foot and hand reflexology, was found in the tomb of Ankhmahor (the highest official after the King) at Saqqara. This tomb is also known as the physician’s tomb showing the importance of this type of healing in Egyptian society.
